The Greek War Medal 1940-1941 was instituted by Royal Decree of August 19th 1947. 
Eligibility for the Greek War Medal 1940-1941 requires the following:
Active service in the Greek Armed Forces, or allied forces serving alongside the Greek Military, during the specified period.
Participation in combat operations, or provision of critical support, during the Greco-Italian War.
