United Nations Disengagement Observer Force Medal was established in June 1974 to supervise the ceasefire between Israel and Syria, monitor the disengagement of Syrian and Israeli forces, and maintain a buffer zone as outlined in the Agreement on Disengagement between Israeli and Syrian Forces of 31 May 1974.
Presented by the United Nations to Military and police personnel who serve 90 consecutive days with the UN Mission in the Golan Heights.
